Press Release Body:
September 4, 2008. New York, New York. Discover a different kind of festival called
Uncomun on September 20, 2008 at Public Assembly in Brooklyn from 7:00 pm till 4:00
am. The festival will feature a thriving mix of musicians and artists who will unite
to bring the party back to New York City.

Since its inception as a monthly event series in 2004, Uncomun has captivated
audiences with its unique breed of multi-genre, multi-artist performances at venues
across New York City, including Galapagos Art Space and Southpaw in Brooklyn, and
Blue Note and S.O.B.’s in Greenwich Village. The goal of re-launching Uncomun as a
full-blown festival is to showcase the wealth of talented artists working across New
York City in various disciplines—musicians, dancers, DJs, video artists, painters
and poets. Our mission is to revitalize the creative fabric of New York City as a
place where working artists can live, work and thrive.

The roster of artists who will be featured at the festival include performers from
previous Uncomun events plus members of the city’s creative vanguard who will
perform for the first time with the Uncomun family. The festival will feature
Garrison Hawk, Loud Apt and Maya Azucena with founding member of P-Funk, Berne
Worrell, as a special guest. Additional artists showcasing their talent at the
Uncomun festival include: What Do You Dance On?, Deetron, Team Full Stealth, Full
Circle Productions, Grupo Irek, Shervone Neckles, Baba Israel, Jerome Derradji,
Still Music, Meena, Khalid Hill, Sean Schulich, Amir Parsa, Eddie Venegas,
Rokafella, DJ Speedrail, DJ Alex Barnes, Earl Fyfe, Katherine Crockett, Sita
Frederick, Lance Paladino, Ale, Dionis Oritz, Sophia Knapp, Stefen Reed and more.

The festival will take place from 7pm to 4am in three rooms at Public Assembly
(formerly Galapagos Art Space) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. For more information,
